Music via USB

Many stereos or A/V receivers feature a USB (Universal Serial Bus) input. You can use this input to play digital music (or videos if supported). USB drives are inexpensive and the price is going down. A 2GB USB drive can hold approximately 285 mp3 songs, depending on length of song and bit rate of the mp3.

The USB port can also be used for an iPod. Many receivers extend the iPod controls to the receiver controls. This allows you to control the iPod from the receiver remote.
